Uche Ignites Comfortable Palace Win at Shelbourne.

Despite entering their maiden continental adventure, Oliver Glasner's side are adapting very quickly. Without key figures like forward Jean-Philippe Mateta and defender Daniel Muñoz, the Eagles left Dublin with a comfortable win that virtually secures them a place in the Conference League playoffs.

A further three points in their upcoming fixture against Finland's KuPS ought to be enough to secure direct entry to the last 16, especially following a previous setback against Strasbourg.

Fringe Players Seize the Moment

This match offered a chance for several Palace's fringe players to shine. Christantus Uche, making only his second start after joining on loan from Getafe, opened the scoring with a well-taken finish. Striker Eddie Nketiah contributed a second, scoring for the second game in match.

The Shelbourne side that had finished their league season were outmatched against a largely second-string Palace lineup. The visitors were further depleted by the reports that Mateta and Muñoz are sidelined with knee problems.

The contest was effectively over eight minutes before half-time. Yeremy Pino weaved past some comically weak challenges before coolly dispatching a shot past keeper Wessel Speel to make it 3-0.

After the break, manager Oliver Glasner took the chance to withdraw several players like Kamada and Wharton. Substitute Romain Esse came close to scoring with his first touch, only to see his effort blocked.

Esse was incredibly unlucky later on, seeing one shot strike off both posts before being clasped on the line. Uche then missed a glaring chance, showing there is still room for development in his game.

The only worry for Palace was a late injury to Justin Devenny, who was forced off. This allowed 17-year-old forward Benji Casey to earn his senior debut, rounding off an otherwise positive evening for the visiting side.
